Sugar and Salt Experiments

Listen to "Ada Twist, Scientist" by Andrea Beaty, then try out one salty and one sweet experiment.

After our book, we will start with our salty activity; Salt volcanos a fun, simple science experiment using oil, water, food coloring, and salt in a jar to create a mesmerizing "lava lamp" effect that teaches about density and immiscible liquids. Lastly our sweet craft; Sugar water painting a simple art activity where a sugar-water solution mixed with watercolors creates shimmering, textured art, to add a unique gloss and resist effect on watercolor paper as it dries.

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
