Underwater Colour Burst

Explore the science concept of immiscibility by experimenting with colour mixing in various liquids.
When you aren't getting along with a friend or sibling, have you ever heard the phrase uttered, "they get along like oil and water"? Today we are using colour to experiment and show how oil and water "get along" or mix together (or don't?). Art and science collide in this experiment that will have swirling clouds and bursts of colour, like underwater fireworks, demonstrating this physical property of water and oil called immiscibility. While we are at it, you may learn about how best to bathe a duck, what soap is made from, and a bit about how waterproofing works.
Recommended for ages 8+
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
