The Science of Summer Bugs
Summer Reading Challenge
Friday, July 24
11:00am - 12:00pm
Join a public health professional from Lambton County for an engaging and informative session on vector-borne diseases commonly found in our region, with a focus on mosquitoes and ticks.
This presentation will explore the science behind how these diseases spread, current testing and surveillance conducted by Lambton Public Health, and what local data tells us about risk in our community.
As part of our Summer Reading Challenge and S.T.E.A.M.-themed programming, attendees will gain insight into the scientific and public health processes used to monitor and manage vector-borne illnesses, alongside practical, evidence-based strategies individuals and families can use to protect themselves during the summer months.
