Stop by the library to enjoy weekly activities based on this years Summer Reading Program theme. These time-travelling activities are both educational and a great way to connect with peers. This program is recommended for children ages 6-12. Children under 10 must have a caregiver present.

July 6 - Dino Shadow Painting: Experiment with making dinosaur shadows, then transform them into playful painted characters.
July 13 - Ancient Egyptian Fashion: Design and create ancient Egyptian broad collars (usekh), and headdress (Nemes). This project is explores the significance of these famous examples of personal ornamentation and their meaning in ancient Egyptian society.
July 20 - Medieval Castles: Bring history to life. Build a castle. A fun and creative project creating a castle out of cardboard.
July 27 - Thaumatropes and Silhouettes: This unique style of portrait is a signature look of the Victorian Era. Create a frame and side-portrait of yourself to take home and discover an easy-to-make Victorian homemade toy.
Aug 3 - Groovy Shirts: Turn a plain t-shirt into something colourful and unique using a tie-dye technique. Note: Make sure you wear clothing that you don't mind dye getting on, just in case things get messy.
