Junior STEAM - DIY Pantograph
Summer Reading Challenge
Wednesday, July 29
4:00pm - 5:30pm
Explore levers, scaling and mechanics by making a pantograph out of cardboard.
The pantograph was invented over 400 years ago to complete a task that we can often do today with a couple taps on a screen or button - copy and enlarge (or shrink) a drawing! We will explore the use of levers, how mechanical linkage works to magnify our hand's movements, learn about scaling, and have fun with construction and art as we make and use our own pantograph machine!
Recommended for ages 8-12+
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
