Stop by the library to enjoy afterschool activities. Themed, weekly activities are both educational and a great way to connect with peers.
This program is recommended for children ages 6-12. Children under 10 must have a caregiver present.
January 9 - Chain Reactions: Build with contraptions and test out chain reactions. This week will incorporate elements of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
January 16 - Games Night: Challenge friends as you test out different board games and challenges at the library.
January 23 - Play with WiiU: Come play on the WiiU, see what games we have!
January 30 - Marble Run: Constructing a marble run is not unlike coding, where exact instructions need to be given to create the desired result. This week will incorporate elements of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
February 6 - Draw What You Hear: Listen to a story and drawing our own illustrations for it, without seeing the pages of the book!
February 13 - Printmaking: Printmaking is the process of transferring an image from one medium to another. Create your own unique artwork while discovering different methods of printmaking.
February 20 - Mixed Media Art: Create a picture using a variety of materials to add texture and depth.
February 27 - Confetti Bookmarks: Make bright and colourful confetti bookmarks to take home and celebrate every time you read.
