Join us to discuss William Shakespeare's tragedy Antony and Cleopatra, which dramatizes the love affair between Mark Antony, a Roman military leader, and Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. When Antony is summoned back to Rome, he clashes with fellow ruler Octavius (later known as Augustus Caesar) before returning to Cleopatra in Egypt. Now at odds with Octavius, Antony and Cleopatra suffer miscommunications and losses before the end. We will discuss the play itself, as well as its language, themes, relevance in our modern world, adaptations, and more.
