Bring your entire family and participate in fun activities with kids and teens at the Sarnia Library and the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery to Family Literacy Day.
Family Literacy Day takes place every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. Make food, sing songs, and play games. The possibilities for learning are endless – and it’s fun when you do it together.
Activities will be located at both the Sarnia Library, Sarnia Library Theatre and the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery. Drop-in for a few activities, or stay with us for the entire day!
Sarnia Library activities will run from 9:00-12:00 and will include:
Snacks donated by Superstore in Sarnia will be available at this location.
Entertainment in the Sarnia Library Theatre will include a film screening and two performances from Dan the Music Man, songwriter and entertainer whose enthusiastic performances have made him a favourite of family audiences all over Canada, the United States and as far away as Seoul, South Korea.
10:00-10:30 - Dan the Music Man: World of Words - This wonderful, participatory program blends music, laughter, rhythm and rhymes to celebrate the gift of literacy.

2:00-3:30 - Lilo and Stitch - This PG rated film from Disney explores themes of loyalty, friendship, and 'Ohana, the Hawaiian tradition of family.
JNAAG Activities will run from 12:00p.m - 3:00p.m and will include:
Each family that arrives at one of the sites will receive a bag with information on Family Literacy and the different organizations present. In each bag will be ballots for prize draws:
