Building on the way notes look and solfege from the last session, participants will learn about the relationships between notes: intervals, harmony and dissonance. Come to the library and sing!
After reviewing the solfege, hand-signals and syllables we learned last time, participants will get an introduction to singing and recognizing music intervals (min/maj 2nds, 3rds, perfect 4th and 5th, tritone, min/maj 6th, 7th, and perfect octave). They will learn to recognize the intervals by matching them to the beginnings of songs. They will also have the opportunity to try singing some basic harmonies and dissonances!
