Go back to the 14th century and make this neat decorative vase topper that makes arranging and watering a bouquet a snap!
Flower arranging can be fun, especially when you finally make that perfect bouquet that looks great from every angle. But, then when it comes time to move your vase or change out the water, all that hard work has to be done again to get your arrangement back to looking its best! Well, you'll be jumping for joy to make this simple, fun, and pretty DIY solution to your floral arrangement needs! Introducing the the "flower frog," a ceramic vase topper containing holes for the flower stems to keep them in place during watering or transport. This neat invention was first used in Japan in the 14th century and gained popularity in North American in the late 1900s.
Using air dry clay and texturing tools, in part one of the workshop, participants with shape and design their flower frog. Participants can bring their own vase for sizing, otherwise, the frog will be made to sit on top of a mason jar-sized container.
In part 2, participants will decorate their creation and be able to take it home.
