In this one-hour workshop for adults, you will learn the basics of creating a resumé built with the latest tips, tricks, and advice to help you land the job interview!
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
- What a resumé is and the different resumé formats
- How to determine what to include on your resumé
- How to write effective statements for your resumé
- How to ensure your resumé is compatible with employer screening tools like Applicant Tracking Systems
- How to customize your resumé and cater it to the employer and the job you’re applying for
At the end of this session, participants will have an outline of their resumé in Microsoft Word, which they can then continue to build and expand on either at the library or at home.
Participants are invited, but not required, to bring with them a previous version of their resumé, or a list of previous work and education experience.
A limited number of devices will be available for participant use. Participants can also choose to bring a personal device (equipped with Microsoft Word) if they would prefer to use their own.
