Stop by the library to enjoy afterschool activities. Themed, weekly activities are both educational and a great way to connect with peers. Each week we will explore or create something new.
Jan 6 - Create Friendship Bracelets: Create a friendship bracelet using a cardboard wheel. Experiment and add decorative beads into the pattern.
Jan 13 - Explore with Engineering: Learn basic engineering concepts including mechanics, electronics, and programming.
Jan 20 - Stuffy First Aid: Bring in a stuffy and learn how to clean and properly apply a band aid, listen for a heartbeat, swaddle your stuffy, and cuddle for a story.
Jan 27 - Northern Lights Chalk Painting: Create a beautiful winter night sky full of chalk colours. Learn how to layer and soften lines on a page.
Feb 3 - Blanket Fort Read Alouds: Celebrate Read Aloud Week with us! Create a blanket fort to share a hilarious story or two with a matching craft to follow.
Feb 10 - Yarn Monsters: Create a yarn monster and build a story (a yarn) to go with them.
Feb 24 – Owl Weaving: Learn how to weave on a simple loom and turn the results into a colourful owl.
This program is recommended for children ages 6-12.
Children under 10 must have a caregiver present.
