Celebrate Welcoming Week with Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership with the film Peace by Chocolate in the Sarnia Library Theatre. Welcoming Week is an annual opportunity to recognize and celebrate the people, places and values that help everyone feel welcome and give them a sense of belonging in their local community, no matter where they come from. Prior to the start of the film we will enjoy a Welcome video message from community members.
The film will begin at 6pm. Please join us beforehand for a cake cutting, and enjoy a piece while supplies last.
About the film:
After the bombing of his father's chocolate factory, a charming young Syrian refugee struggles to settle into his new Canadian small-town life, caught between following his dream to become a doctor and preserving his family's chocolate-making legacy. Based on the internationally recognized true story.
This film is rated PG and has a run time of 96 minutes.
All film screenings at the library are free!
The Sarnia Library houses a 306-seat accessible theatre. Up to nine seats can be removed to accommodate barrier free seats.
The theatre is equipped with LED lighting along aisles, wall sconces and ceiling, sound equipment, projection screen, stage, lobby area with servery and barrier free washrooms.
