Stop by the library to enjoy afterschool activities. Themed, weekly activities are both educational and a great way to connect with peers.
May 6: Be You - Make a breathing stick, paint an emotion, and learn a couple centering techniques.
May 13: Simple Structures – Build with Tegu blocks and explore the power of magnets.
May 27: Picture That! - Use magazine cuttings to create funny picture collages. Go on a picture scavenger hunt using micro pictures of spaces in the library.
June 3: Pipe Cleaner Creations – Make your own fuzzy creatures out of pipe cleaners.
June 10: Electricity – Explore the shocking world of electricity by connecting Power Tiles.
June 17: Fantastic Bookmarks! – Get ready for the Summer Reading with a collection of bookmarks, including one that will never fall out of a book.
June 24: Paper Bug Training – Create your own bug and measure how high it can jump and fly. Fly it through an obstacle course and see how well it can hide.
These programs are recommended for children ages 5-12.
Children under 10 must have a caregiver present.
